Tell them the old old stories Stories that are true Tell them of our history And the hard times we've been through
You've got to keep your campfires burning Burning oh so bright Embers of Red and Yellow It'll warm you through the night
You have to teach your children to carry the firestick It's a glowing torch of flame It'll keep the fires burning over again You've got to reach your children to carry the firstick
Campfires burning in the night I see them on the hill People siting by the fire light Morning noon and night
TALKING! You know our campfires were special to us Because it signified home, togetherness, unity, discipline, mainly respect. Campfires around the humpies brought many stories also The bush played a very big apart in our lives. But since we moved into our concrete homes Our hearts turned so hard and so cold without our campfires. What will our ancestors think now (poor fellas) You might sat it's too late, cause our elders are all gone One-day we will get old, wise is another story, without the campfires burning. So I plead with you please let's pick up the glowing torch of flame To keep the fires burning over and over again.
